The setup: it's the 40th anniversary gala of pop's most reinvented icon. Every era of her career is in the room, in costume, holding a drink and a grudge. Over one evening, three of them die. Everyone's a suspect. And here's the part your guests won't see coming: nobody knows who the killer is until the final confession — including the killer. Even you can play unspoiled and vote with the room.

How the night plays

Guests arrive in character — each one an era of the icon: the bridal era, the ballroom era, the dancefloor era, the cowgirl era. You read the opening monologue. Then the first body drops.

Three murders land at scripted beats across the evening. After each one, you scatter the evidence and let your guests turn detective — alliances form, secrets surface, at least one person will defend a lipstick tube like it's a deposition. The dead aren't done, either: victims become Ghosts, who can't spill their secrets but can absolutely haunt, judge, and vote.

At the end, everyone casts a vote, the confession gets handed to the killer, and they read it like it's their final number. Awards. Photos. Case closed.

Runs about three hours. The timeline is flexible — the order isn't, and the Host Guide keeps both on point for you.

Every character is gender-flexible, written without fixed pronouns. Any guest, any role. Assign them, let people choose, or let chaos decide.

Before you buy: the content note

This kit is written for adults (17+). It's a light-hearted, over-the-top night featuring adult themes of murder, deceit, betrayal, blackmail — and questionable fashion choices. If that's not your party, no hard feelings, darling.

Icons Never Die is a parody. All characters are fictional, no real recording artist was harmed, and the Queen of Pop's lawyers can rest easy.
